Sowcarpet Green Chutney Sandwich is a spicy and delicious dish made with either murukku or bread spread with spicy green chutney and lots of veggies.

Ingredients
For the Sandwich:
  • 8 Wholewheat Bread slices
  • 1 Small Cucumber, thinly sliced
  • 1 Small Onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 Medium Tomato, thinly sliced
  • 2~3 tbsp Fine Sev
  • Pinch chaat masala
  • Pinch Ground Cumin
For Sowcarpet Green Chutney:
  • 2 cups Cilantro leaves and tender stems, chopped
  • ½ cup Roasted unsalted Peanuts
  • 1~2 Green Chilies
  • 1~2 Garlic cloves
  • 1 tsp Tamarind paste
  • tsp chaat masala
  • ½ tsp Black Salt/ Kala Namak
  • ½ tsp Ground Pepper
  • ¼ tsp Ground Cumin
  • 1 tsp jaggery

  • ¼ tsp Ground Cumin
  • 1 tsp jaggery
Sowcarpet Green Chutney Sandwich
Instructions
Make the Green Chutney:
  1. Grind the roasted peanuts into a powder and set aside.
  2. Blend all the other ingredients until smooth. Add the ground peanuts and blend into a smooth chutney.
  3. Taste it adjust the seasoning accordingly. Store in an airtight container refrigerated.
Make the Sandwich:
  1. Spread the green chutney generously on one side of all the bread slices.
  2. Top one slice with cucumber, tomato and onion. Sprinkle the veggies with some chaat masala.
  3. Sprinkle some sev on top of the veggies.
  4. Close with another slice of bread with the chutney side on the veggies.
  5. Add some green chutney on top and sprinkle some sev. Slice and serve. Repeat with the remaining sandwiches.
