Chocolate Banana Cake

This is yet another Banana cake from my drafts. I made it for my daughter’s 10th month birthday. I can’t believe she’ll be 1 very soon. I’ve already started thinking about what to do for her birthday. Pinterest has been a great resource and I’ve found tons of ideas for the party. I still have to come up with a theme and make a list of everything else that needs to be done before the d-day. I will keep you posted on that. In the mean time enjoy this super moist and delicious banana cake. I think this will be…

Eggless Chocolate Cake with Jam for a Celebration

May is a month of celebration in my real home and also in my virtual home. It happens to be my birthday month (yup.. I’m a tough Taurean 🙂 ) and of course there’s Mother’s day celebrations. It is also my blog anniversary month — Cook’s Hideout has completed 7 years of blogging. Blogging years seem to me like dog years. There are a quite a few blogs that were active at one time, but are no longer virtually alive. I feel like a veteran among many new and upcoming food bloggers. I have to thank my family for their…

Kudos to the entire group for successfully completing this challenge and thanks to Valli for being the best organizer as ever. Final class was dedicated to making roses and writing/ printing on…

Quinoa Chocolate Cake (Gluten free)

Blogging Marathon #25: Week 1/ Day 3 Theme: Baking with Whole Grains Dish: Quinoa Chocolate Cake Chocolate is one of our household favorite ingredient. So when I plan to bake something sweet, I usually look for recipes with cocoa or chocolate chips. For the “Baking with Whole Grains” theme, I hit a jackpot when I searched for Quinoa Chocolate cake. I was hoping to find a recipe which used cooked quinoa, but what I found was this amazing gluten free chocolate cake that used only cooked quinoa and no flour at all.

Chocolate Cake with Chocolate Ganache & an Upcoming Product Review

CSN stores have contacted me to do a product review and since they have over 200 online stores where you can find everything from dinnerware to dog beds to sofas and suitcases, I eagerly agreed to do another review. Stay tuned for the review. I made this cake for my husband on Father’s Day (yup.. that’s right, this post has been on the drafts for way too long). He is a chocoholic and always asks to make a decadent chocolate cake and I think this cake fits the bill – very chocolatey and moist, it is the best chocolate cake…

Dorie Greenspan’s Gooey Chocolate Cakes

Sara of Weekend Cookbook Challenge is hosting an event to promote a new cookbook; Baking: From My Home to Yours by Dorie Greenspan (published by Houghton Mifflin Company). Sara asked me to take part in this event and I can’t thank Sara enough for that. I received a complimentary copy of the book by Dorie Greenspan from the publishers and as per Sara’s instructions I had to pick one or two recipes from the book, bake them and blog about them. Some of the pictures in the book (including the one on the cover) are quite intimidating for a novice…
