As a vegetarian, I rely heavily on lentils and legumes for my daily protein intake. When combined with a whole grain, these provide the same quality protein as meat!!

Dal is a quintessential part of Indian meal. I make dal in one form or the other every single day like this traditional Kerala style Dal or with my twist in this asparagus lentil soup.
Then there are our family favorite - beans. They are versatile, nutritious and delicious. We love them in this beans & rice dish or just as is in this Cuban black beans.
